FEViper Factoid

  A total of 31,947 vipers have been built from the very beginning (1992) to the end of August 2017. The last one, VIN number 948, was built using the same paint code as the first with no frills (like the 1992). Conversely, there were 40,000 Corvettes built last year.

Final Edition Viper GTS Registry

     For 3 months in 2002, the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant in Detroit, Michigan produced 360 unique red and white striped "Final Edition" Dodge Vipers.  These special Vipers are the last 'Generation 2' cars produced.

     The goal of the Final Edition Viper Registry is to assemble and maintain a complete record of vital statistics for all 360 of the 2002 GTS Final Edition Vipers. All Final Edition Viper Owners and enthusiasts are encouraged to submit information to assist in documenting this unique group of performance cars. Spring/Summer 2020 - Stay Home - Stay Safe - COVID-19.  Socially Distant Car Shows?

Is it a 'REAL' Final Edition Viper?  A 2002 Viper has recently come on the market with the unique paint scheme and red stitched steering wheel and shift knob associated with the 2002 Final Edition GTS Vipers.  However, this Viper has a dash plaque number '000'  and the VIN suggests the car was manufactured several months before the Final Edition Vipers.  It would appear that this was a production Viper used to introduce the special features of the (at that time, pending) 2002 Final Edition GTS Vipers at 2002 North American Auto Shows.  (more info in this video from the 2002 Chicago Auto Show)

August 2017 - Special Viper 25th Anniversary Event at Conner Avenue Assembly Plant was a celebration of Viper.  (group picture below was taken at CAAP and includes 4 Final Edition GTS Vipers among ~220 Vipers shown).  Viper production ended August 2017.

Viper production officially ends with the 2017 model year - Approximately 31 Aug.  You can no longer order a new Viper.  (Road & Track article)
